Support the 1910 Plan
2010 provides us with a perfect opportunity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of this beautiful work of American history. Connecticut based publisher Rvive Books is creating a facsimile edition of the original publication of the 1910 Plan of New Haven, with a foreword by Mayor John DeStefano, Jr., and essays by architect and scholar Alan Plattus, art historian Vincent Scully, and political scientist and New Haven historian Douglas Rae. The book will be printed in both a limited presentation edition and a trade paperback for general readers, and the original map of the plan will be produced in full size color and will be available for individual sale as well.
As a once in a century production, sponsors, civic boosters and citizens who love New Haven past and present and those who appreciate the art and science of city planning are all being asked to aid in this project.
Sponsorships and supporters are invited to contribute at a several different levels. Sponsors will be recognized in the book, as well as at public events that celebrate the publication of the book and the history of New Haven planning.
Individuals or businesses who wish to help this project come to fruition may make contributions by purchasing books or maps in advance. Those doing so will benefit from special advance pricing; they will also be the first to receive their copies of the book in advance of the official publication date, September 26, 2010.
All the books and maps produced for the 2010 celebration will be specially identified — and will become instant collectibles.
The print edition will be made available in a variety of formats:
